And here we go!!

It's January. The start of a new year, with new goals and already a "to-do" list long enough to paper my shop walls. Last year I said that I was going to cut back and try to find more balance in my life. I had every intention of spending more time at home and getting my house back in order. Seems like I'm away from the house so much that things just don't get done. I used to love driving into my drive way and now I just cringe at all the things that are a huge mess and I need to fix.

Sooooo......this years keyword needs to be Balance. With a capital "B".  Not sure yet how I'm going to make it happen, but I do know that unless I want the blackberries to cover my house or the health department to condemn the property, I've got to make it happen. Balance in all aspects of my life.

As far as the shop goes, I'm making a few changes there as well. I've decided to feature more of my designs. More reclaimed and re-purposed items too. I love the idea of taking things that are no longer useful, working them over a bit and creating something useful and beautiful. I've challenged myself to do more of that.

Generally, the New Year causes me to stress out and think about all I haven't done and all that I'm facing in the coming year. But this year I've decided to make things happen, stop stressing about all the small petty things and just accept my life for the beautiful gift that it is.

  1. Hi Wren, I love your New Years post. Balance in all things...Wish I was there to help you in your yard. I love gardening! Many hands makes the chores go so much faster. I hope to see you in a few months!
