TMI

For those of you that don't know me, I'm sometimes guilty of giving 'TMI'. That's Too Much Information for those of you not fortunate enough to have a child or grandchild around to teach you the current lingo. Case in point? A week or so ago, I re-planted the flower baskets and pots on the front porch of the shop. I was so ready for fall and as soon as I saw the kale come into the garden center, I was filling my cart. With a joyful heart I filled the baskets with colorful cabages and bright yellow pansies and, to fill in some of the empty spots, tucked a few fake gourds and pumpkins in the mix. And people raved about them. I would see customers start to come in the store and then pause to look at the planters and go on and on about how I did it. And of course, I would have to go up to the front and tell them exactly how to plant their own and where to find the products. "Just go to the Dollar Store to get your gourds. You can't beat a dollar!" So here's where the TMI comes in. Yesterday, when I was ready to plant my two larger baskets, I went to my local Dollar Store to stock up on my gourds and pumpkins. To my huge disappointment, they were completely sold out. According to the clerk, it seems that there was a woman in town sending everyone in to buy them for their outdoor planters!! Hummmm...... maybe I should stop sharing so much??

Well, that brings me to the actual subject of this blog post. There is a blog that I have book marked that I use time and time again. I love the site, get tons of great things from the site, and have to be careful or I'll spend all day sitting in front of my computer using all the ink in my printer with wonderful things from that particular site. And the funny thing is, this is one source that I've not shared with everyone. I kept it to myself as a closely guarded secret. Which I've decided is silly since this is nothing like the limited supply at my favorite Dollar Store.

So, just what is this well guarded secret source? Well it's The Graphics Fairy . This site is filled with the most amazing images that are free to download and use in our creative projects. My latest downloads were for the Halloween display in the shop. I wanted something a little different from the cutesy things that most other gift shops use. And with the help of The Graphics Fairy I found just the perfect touches.

The photo holder that I made out of an old book just screamed (Halloween pun intended) for some vintage photos to tuck in. The crabby little boy, and severe looking woman were perfect. And for a little color I used The Graphics Fairy's orange butterflies. I LOVED them.

There were so many great images for Halloween on the site, but these skull and hand bone prints really fit the display and they look great in (at the risk of depleting my supply) Dollar Store frames!

I still have more to add to the set, but I'm really happy with the way it's turning out thanks to all the great images from my favorite clip art site. I can't wait to start printing out wonderful things for my Christmas displays!
