Sewer Pipe and Sedums

My friends Cindy and Diane have started a side business they call Archer and Wobbe Estate Sales. They do estate sales for clients, but they also do some 'picking' on the side. Every few weeks they open their warehouse for an event they call the Paris Flea Market. I admit that I'm addicted. I get an e-mail announcing the next Paris Flea Market, and I tell myself that I'm not going. I have enough stuff that I'm going to do 'something' with. I don't need more. And I drive into town with firm conviction and then I see one of their pink and white signs pointing the way and I'm gone. The car goes on autopilot and before I know it, I'm pulling up to the warehouse.

It's just that they get some of the coolest things there. And the price is right. I've gotten several yards of decor fabric for my fall set ($3), old frames, shelves, an amazing mirror ($12) and several 'odd' things that my husband has rolled his eyes at. Case in point; cement sewer pipe! I had gone to the Market and had actually walked out without buying anything. I was just getting in my car when I spotted a trailer full of moss covered cement pieces and a sign the said ".25 ea." Talk about excited! I ran in, gave Diane $2 and went out and proceeded to load my car with 8 awesome pieces. They were so cool and I couldn't wait to do something amazing with them.

Now, generally, just so I don't have to listen to the husband, I rush to the shop and hide my treasure till I can create with it. This time, I left them in the back of the car and then got busy and forgot about it. A few days latter Ken walked in and said "what's with the sewer pipe in the back of your car?" Sewer pipe?! You mean my cool cement finds are actual sewer pipe?! Funny, I had no idea.

So, what did I end up doing with my moss covered cement sewer pipe? Planted them with sedums and baby tears of course! I love the way they look in the front garden and in a few months the moss will really be green and the plants will start to cascade over. Can't wait!
